Diastasis of Symphysis Pubis In 18-Years Old Female Patient Treated With Conservative Pelvic Binder: Case Report

Background: Pelvic trauma is commonly associated with high-velocity force-like road traffic accidents and carries high rates of complications, including diastasis the symphysis pubis. The pubis prevalence rate has been reported at 13-16%. This case report aimed to review effectiveness conservative pelvic binders in emergency setting.Case Report: An eighteen years old female patient was referred Emergency Unit because a motorcycle accident. She revealed worsening abdominal pain, unable move both legs swollen bruised vulva. fully conscious, vital sign low blood pressure 89/56 mmHg. AP pelvis X-ray showed marked 3.87 cm wide. Immediate resuscitation performed, stabilizing using binder. evaluation surprisingly successful results as symphyseal gap reduced 0.66 cm. Discussion: In this case, >2.5 cm, indicating surgical treatment. Recent studies suggest therapy good outcomes Considering patient's young age no comorbidities, it assumed that healing process would occur quickly, so treatment chosen first. However, further still needed due limitation follow-up from patient. Conclusion: Conservative binder called gurita effective for emergencies inadequate medical equipment.
